That’s baba au rhum, Baby!

My boyfriend encouraged me to order the classic French dessert, baba au rhum, at Brasserie Balzar in Paris. It was very exciting with a big bowl of creme chantilly (sweetened whipped cream) served on the side. 

In addition, it came accompanied with a bottle of rum. The waiter sensed at once my curiosity and confusion, and proceeded to douse the cake with rum and pile on the cream. The bottle stayed on the table, in case the cake was not satisfactorily saturated…
