At tea time inside the opulent Le Meurice, you can enjoy an atmosphere of fine dining without the expense of a three-Michelin-star restaurant. I had the Darjeeling, sometimes referred to as the Champagne of teas. And, in fact, you can take a Champagne tea, which includes a glass of Champagne, fancy finger sandwiches, and special pastries. The ones pictured here are the “basic” pastries: a lemon tart, an apple tart, Kugelhopf (like panettone), marshmallows, and almond cookies.
