On the other side of the equator, it’s summer. That means tropical fruits are in season; and, yes, avocadoes apply. This is my favorite way to eat one: sliced in half with a vinaigrette where the pit was (see my post “A Simple Vinaigrette”). You can also stuff them with various salads, such as crab, shrimp, or chicken. It’s an interesting way to serve a first course, or a simple preparation for a satisfying lunch!
